Back in the USA
After coming back Statewise I got the chance to meet with Jes of The State Park to work on embossing my new logo onto leather creations that I had finished. Those included book covers, clutches and leather pouches.
It was very exciting to work on this - one hundred year old - machine. It took almost half an hour to heat it. We tried to emboss with color by inserting a foil between the leather and the hot stamp. We will try more foil and embossing but for now I am loving the embossing alone so much that I am ready to stamp my logo on everything! Just kidding, but on my next leather creations for sure.
Feel free to let me know what you would like to see made in leather. It’s reclaimed leather for the most part so I feel pretty good about my low environmental impact.
I don’t seem to be running out of ideas and am planning to make more leather clutches as they have been very popular. I have been carrying mine all over Europe for the last few months and I am pleased that it has aged really well.
It feels good to be home and so exciting to have as many projects going as I do right now.
I have painted my new sewing studio and it is ready for consultations if you would like to meet me there. I am inviting my knitting customers there since it is a nice, fresh, inspiring and quite space. Come see me there!
I am planning on making more wrap bracelets for Makerfolk, bandana masks for Wolverine Farm & Publick House and for you all this Fall & Winter.
