As I write this I am sitting in a goofy hotel at the Lyon airport terminal 2. The hotel is entertaining as it is all about Hollywood.

With my family we planned on staying one night, last night, but as we got to the Lufthansa check point we were advised that our 9:30 flight was canceled back in May. ?!! How is that possible? That we were not advised of this before we even left Colorado for our summer trip to France.

I have my socks to knit - that I stated back in June during our trip over - and I am dreaming of what I will weave and make when I am finally back home.

This whole experience makes me think of how I love to travel and be outside of my routine and every day reference points. But it also reminds me how wonderful it is to me to be home and less nomadic.

Could it be this adventure mixed with a return to routine that helps me in my artistic endeavors? The yin and the yang?

It also makes me think of how a day delay at the airport - as annoying as it is - is minimal compared to being gone for months.

And of course the relativity of people stranded at airports for other, more serious, reasons such as hurricanes, floods, wars,…

As just about every day I am grateful for the luck I have and have had to live a life of security and bliss. Now to try to shine this on and be an ally and helper to those of us who are less fortunate!
