Market Life
Today I was at another Handmade Market selling my creations.
Over the years - almost 20 - I have really been enjoying markets. I have mentioned before that I love the personal contact with customers. We laugh together, talk about travels, discover we are from Europe,… I love to teach, so it comes naturally to me to offer to meet again by taking a class from me with a few of your friends - a private party and I teach you how to make something beautiful - and you walk out with a finished product that you made yourself for about the same price as you would have paid to buy it from me.
I love also that I get to display my work differently every time. And at the end of the day to also put things up in an orderly fashion or in a different way again. I take my time there and enjoy this part also.
Today my husband and I talked about the problem of offering too many choices to customers. He said it is proven that people get overwhelmed by too many choices. I have heard this before and will really make an effort there since it is hard for me not to show all I have been busy creating!
Attending markets is something I think I will be doing for quite a while longer as I enjoy it a lot.
My next market is going to be October 22nd from 3 to 6 pm. At Raisin Roots, a great little farm on Vine street in Fort Collins. I hope to see you there!
